Richard Thompson was named in 2003 by Rolling Stone magazine as one of the Top 20 Guitarists of all time and the recipient in 2006 of the BBC Lifetime Achievement Award.
Michael Frost, Viola
Born in Yorkshire, Michael started playing as a young lad after discovering his Dad’s discarded 3/4 size violin in the attic. He came to his senses age 15 after hearing the lovely, rich, velvety tones of the Viola. He went on to study Viola performance at Trinity College of Music , London. He has played as a freelance violist in orchestras, chamber groups, folk and rock ensembles both in the UK and the US. He, and his Viola, moved to California in 1996.
Also during the daylight hours, he’s the afternoon Classical host on Capital Public Radio. Nocturnally, he enjoys the odd frothy pint of ale and a good game of ping pong.
