Kristin Arnold, Violin
Kristin came to Sacramento in 1990 from Bozeman, Montana, by way of a 2-year stint in Seattle, Washington, and has performed as a freelance and studio musician throughout the greater Sacramento area since she came here. She earned a Master’s Degree in Music from California State University Sacramento (CSUS) in 1998. Her primary influences at the time were her violin professor, William Barbini, and composer/conductor, Leo Eylar. Kristin served as concert master for the North Bay Opera Company for several years during the turn of the century, and moved into the eclectic band scene as the violinist and back-up singer for Tiny Monster Invasion. The band produced one album, “Pogo”, and then broke up in 2003.
Kristin took a break from the music scene for a couple of years to focus on her “day job” as a business analyst. Last year, however, her good friend Michael Frost pulled her back in by presenting her with an opportunity she couldn’t resist: to work together again as part of the
Alternative String Band.
